Reviews for The Adventures of Jane Sawyer
"A long overdue novel that unexpectedly takes nineteenth century girls away from demurely socializing in the living room to wildly running outdoors, from quietly studying in school to wreaking havoc across town, from begrudgingly performing house chores to having the most amazing adventures of their lives!"
-Paula Nameth, librarian at Milwaukee Public Library
What I love about this read was that everything was from a young, adventurous, slightly rebellious girl in a period of time when girls were meant to look pretty, not get dirty, smile, do indoor duties, and be agreeable. Jane works hard to push against the social confines of acceptable behavior and just be who she is regardless of what others think. I would have loved to have read about Jane's adventures when I was a young tomboy myself. We still need examples like her in the year 2020 to allow girls and women to be exactly who they are rather than what society want them to be. Thank you William Bott for seeing the need and taking the action!!! -Deanna DeFrank, Avid Reader in San Diego
